This is a video explaining the hydraulic fracturing process. This video portrays fracking of a lateral well. This method is also used the same way for vertical wells.
this video is interesting and people can learn a lot about fracing in the Williston Basin. I just watched a different video very similar to this and I thought it was very cool to see.
I didn't even know what hydraulic fracturing was which probably isn't a good thing being a resident of Williston. I found it very interesting that the fractures are held open by just a grain of sand- that really puts this into perspective for me. Also I found that after they are done extracting oil they just cut off the pipes and cover it with dirt or maybe regrow grass. This seems a bit carless for them to not fully remove their work but it also makes their job a lot easier.
I have never heard of hydraulic fracturing until this video. I always here about the oil boom but I wasn't sure how they went about doing it. I found that preparation can take up to 5 months and the well can then work for 20 to 40 years very interesting. I'm glad I watched this video to help learn how the companies that support us make their money.
I think this video is great. I never really understood what hydraulic fracturing was and the process of it. I kind of agree with Mackenzie. This video is super biased and it makes it looks like its such a clean and simple process, which its not. But I do believe fracing is safe enough.
I have heard of hydraulic fracturing before this video. I knew what it was and how it worked. even though I know a lot about it, I still learned something like 99.5% of fracking is water and sand;.05 are chemicals.
Thought it was quite interesting how onshore drilling in the USA, invests in maintaining a fertile soil, in order to maintain the natural resources of the environment being explored.
I can't believe that they drill horizontally, I'm intrigued at how they do that. This was a very well picked video, it captured my attention from the beginning and I was constantly learning something new! Great job Mackenzie!
I was the same as my peers, I never even heard of hydraulic fracturing. It shows that technology has made it more efficient to pump oil out a mile out of the earth. I can't believe this only takes 4 - 6 weeks to set up and that with that short little work 20 years of oil can be pumped out.
This video talks about how Apple was started and the evolution of products. Something I found really interesting was that Steve Jobs quit Apple for awhile and bought out Pixar.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QfPKFcwacY This video talks about how and who started animation. Also how todays movies and newer animations have just improved from animations years ago.
very interesting that animation began in 1824. it is insane how much technology has advanced animation. Steamboat Willie was the first animation to incorporate sound- this is very interesting to me.
This video is about how Walt Disney succeeded, failed and who he was. He shares in this video is first hands on experience with creating Disneyland and his life on growing up on the farm in Missouri.
A brief description of the history of yoga. Yoga is more than mastering postures and increasing your flexibility and strength. "The traditional purpose of Yoga has always been to bring about a profound transformation in the person through the transcendence of the ego"
There is a lot in making a baseball bat. Technology plays a huge roll in that, whether it is from putting the "Louisville Slugger " print on there or measuring the width and roundness of the bat. All in all, it was a very interesting video.
In the 60's and 70's there were 20 to 22 different steps to making a baseball bat, I had no idea it was that long of a process. Today it's just a press of a few buttons and the bat is made. The weights of the bats are checked in three different spots to make sure its the right weight for the player.
Very cool video! It kept my attention the entire time. I can't believe that it takes 45 seconds now a days to make a wooden bat, all thanks to technology.
Very interesting video. Being a baseball player I never really knew the process of making bats, I just used them. But its always fun learning new stuff.
I was not aware how the first touch pad, was already around in 1994. Also, I thought interesting the cost of the xerox notetaker, 1996, of $50.000,00.Which I'm sure it was a considerable large amount back then.
That is amazing, the History of the laptop. It's really cool to see how year by year the designs become more advanced. The fact the Xerox notetaker was $50,000 meant that they did not know if technology was going to become more advanced and thought this is as advanced as you can get.
A lot of information I was not aware of. Interesting to know that the first eReader was made in 1998, and its capacity was to store up to 10 books. I, also, did not know of the other two brands Nook and Kobo, besides Kindle, and its capacity to store 3.500 books, which it's impressive when comparing its the storage to the first one, released less than a decade ago.
Very interesting the history of fireworks. One of the things I was not aware was the superstitious beliefs, it had from China, and how Italy represented the beginning of the expansion in Europe to its festive use.
This video is about the discovery of DNA in medical research, and how technology, greatly influenced by global changes towards the human body, forensic science, genetic diseases and much more.
This video explains how pg-13 is ruining the film industry, by dulling down violence and language in order to appeal to the the teenage demographic without upsetting parents. Then pg-13 got dumbed and were reediting R rated films, like alien vs Predator which was part of a R-rated series but it was the only pg13 one in the series. So they are forcing R rated movies to be remade or edited down to pg13 making the movies TERRIBLE.

Hello Ms. Pardy,
DeleteI liked your video a lot! Very interesting facts. The one that stuck out most to me was that there is approximately 24 frames per second.
